The one in the barn – Day 27

Today was mostly a walk in the woods. But I walked through a meadow, saw cows and the iconic barn with the AT symbol. I’m pretty sure it’s an active farm. I really appreciate that they allowed hikers the right of way to cross it.

Route report

Not much to report today. It was basically just a walk in the woods.

I decided not to stay at the shelter and go a little further so that tomorrow I would have fewer miles to Damascus. I’m glad I did it! The stealth site I found was perfect. I could see the sunset from my tent.

Thought of the day

I was so excited about today’s meals. Because? For those pop tarts! They were SO good. I laugh to myself thinking about it.

My thought for the day is: the Blueberry Pop Tart without frosting is the best. If you think differently, then you are wrong. You are welcome to leave a comment with your favorite Pop Tart. But that won’t change the fact that blueberry frosting is the best…LOL!

people i met

It’s sad, but today I didn’t meet any people on the road. Lately I see less and less people. Maybe it’s because everyone is looking forward to tour days in Damascus next week?

Plant of the day

Today’s plant is Golden Ragwort. Just the name makes me smile.

bird of the day

The Wood Thrush is today’s bird. He is most often seen waiting on the ground. I didn’t see it – I just identified its song. It had a song quite similar to a flute.
