Who is Charles de Ketelaere, goalscorer for Belgium against Spain in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup?


Belgium drew level in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Spain in Los Angeles on Friday, thanks to a goal by Charles de Ketelaere.

The forward found himself on the end of Timothy Castagne’s cross to lead the Red Devils level after Fabian Ruiz had given Spain the lead.

The 25-year-old forward and attacking midfielder currently plays for Atalanta in Serie A and has scored 10 goals in 64 appearances for the side since his move from AC Milan in 2024.

He had moved to Milan as a 19-year-old after breaking through at Club Brugge, where he scored 19 goals in 90 appearances.

De Ketelaere was capped 35 times by Belgium, scoring nine goals, including two in the round of 16 win over co-hosts USA.

He scored two goals and provided three assists in Belgium’s qualifying campaign for the 2026 edition.
