Claus has been an official FIFA referee since 2015 and was previously on the 2022 World Cup list. He has also refereed in several international competitions, such as the 2021 Copa América and the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
However, the most high-profile match for Claus in recent times was the 2024 Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia, which Lionel Messi and Co. won in the United States of America.
