Egypt’s Amin Mohamed Omar will be the referee in Argentina versus Austria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Omar has been a FIFA-approved referee since 2017 and officiated the second match of the 2026 World Cup between South Korea and the Czech Republic. He has previously worked in the Egyptian Premier League and subsequent domestic and continental competitions.
He has been in charge of 270 games in all competitions, showing the yellow card 981 times, while the red card was handed out 25 times.
The 40-year-old also refereed in the Africa Cup of Nations during the 2019, 2022, 2024 and 2025 editions.
