Who is Vozinha, the Cape Verde goalkeeper starring in the FIFA World Cup match against Spain?

Cape Verdean goalkeeper Josimar Dias became the second-oldest player to make his World Cup debut when he played against Spain at the Atlanta Stadium in Georgia on Monday.

Dias, better known as Vozinha, plays his club football for Chaves in Liga Portugal 2, the second division in Portugal.

The 40-year-old Vozinha is only behind Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El Hadary, who made his World Cup bow at 45 years and 161 days in the 2018 edition.

Against Spain, Vozinha made a series of saves to frustrate the European champions and earn his side a historic 0-0 draw.

Despite having 74% possession and 27 shots on target, Spain were unable to find a way past an inspired Cape Verdean defence, with Vozinha making seven saves.

The experienced goalkeeper with 82 caps was on a full-time tear and will be hoping he can continue his run against Uruguay and Saudi Arabia in the next Group H games.
