The round of 32 between Colombia and Ghana will be led by Frenchman Clement Turpin.
Turpin is one of the tournament’s most experienced referees, having made his debut in the French third division in August 2006. The 44-year-old has been a FIFA list referee since 2010 and a UEFA Elite group referee since 2012.
This is Turpin’s third FIFA World Cup, in which he has taken charge of two group matches in the 2018 edition and three matches in the 2022 edition. He regularly officiates matches in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.
