Switzerland will play Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Los Angeles Stadium in Group B of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.

Who is the referee for the Switzerland-Bosnia and Herzegovina FIFA World Cup 2026 match?

FIFA has announced that Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro will officiate the match.

The 38-year-old has featured in matches in Liga Portugal, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League.

However, this is the first time he has inaugurated a match at the World Cup.

He has managed 440 matches in his career so far, handing out yellow and 45 red cards in 1980.
