Norway scored a second-half goal against England to take a 2-1 lead in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final in Miami on Saturday, but the strike was disallowed.
The decision was changed due to a foul in the build-up to Erling Haaland’s goal.
The passage of play took place in the 55th minute after Heggem came from behind a corner and hit a left-foot shot into the roof of the goal. The ball came his way after being deflected by Patrick Berg at the near post.
However, the referee, Clement Turpin from France, was called to the field monitor by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The replays showed a foul by Haaland, who had pushed England midfielder Elliot Anderson to the ground. The goal was therefore disallowed and Norway was asked to restart the game.
