Scotland are on the brink of elimination from the 2026 World Cup after Senegal’s 5-0 win over Iraq on Friday.
After losing 3-0 to Brazil in the final Group C match on Wednesday, Scotland suffered a -3 goals difference to just three points, taking their chances of qualifying in the knockouts out of their hands.
However, the Scots have a glimmer of hope of still qualifying as one of the top eight teams in third place.

What results need to be achieved for Scotland to qualify for the 32nd round of the World Cup?

Iran loses to Egypt

Algeria loses to Egypt by two or more goals

Uruguay loses to Spain

DR Congo fails to defeat Uzbekistan

Croatia loses to Ghana by three goals or more
If even four of these five results are possible, Scotland will qualify for the World Cup knockouts for the first time.
