The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Monday invited bids for the commercial rights of both men’s and women’s club competitions for the next Indian football season.
However, unlike last season, the Request for Proposal (RFP) will not be published online or in a public forum. Instead, interested bidders will have to purchase the document for Rs. 2.5 lakh from the AIFF.
“It is clarified that the RFP should be shared via email only after receipt of payment…,” the AIFF said in a press release.
“Further, any bid submitted in response to the RFP by any entity that has failed to make the payment described above will be summarily rejected and ineligible for any evaluation under the RFP,” the Federation added.
“…merely purchasing the RFP does not mean that AIFF must evaluate an offer from such an entity.”
The AIFF has made two proposals: Package A, which mainly covers the premier league of men’s clubs, and Package B, which covers two divisions of women’s football.
The Indian Super League (ISL) and the Super Cup, also known as the Federation Cup, comprise the men’s club competitions, while the Indian Women’s League (IWL) and IWL 2 are part of Package B.
