Central defender Jeremy Jacquet, who will join Liverpool from Rennes at the end of the season, will require surgery on a shoulder injury he suffered last month, the Ligue 1 club announced on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old was injured on February 7 in a defeat against Lens.
“After medical examinations, an operation is planned in the coming days,” Rennes said in a short statement.
Rennes did not indicate when he might return.
