CONCACAF Champions Cup: Messi stuck at 899 goals after Inter Miami were held to a 0-0 draw with Nashville in Round of 16 first leg

Lionel Messi was denied his 900th career goal on Wednesday as reigning MLS champions Inter Miami drew 0-0 in Nashville in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

The 38-year-old Argentine superstar forward was well marked in the first leg and will look to improve when Inter Miami host the second leg next Wednesday.

Messi came within one goal of the 900th career milestone after scoring his 80th goal for Miami and 899th of his career in an MLS win over DC United last Saturday.
