Carrick expects clarity about the future of Manchester United in the coming days

Michael Carrick said he expects his future as Manchester United manager to become clear this week, amid reports he will sign a two-year contract to remain at the club.

A 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest secured third place in the Premier League for the Red Devils on Sunday.

Carrick is expected to be rewarded for his impact since taking over in January by being given the job permanently.

«In the coming days there will be clarity on the situation. What was important today was the game, getting the right result, and also some individuals,» said the former United and England midfielder.

“Whatever news comes, I’m sure you’ll hear it in a few days.”

Speaking to fans after United’s final home game of the season, Carrick hinted he will remain in charge.

“We’ve had some big moments, big goals and big results in this place over the last few months,” he said.

“Hopefully there will be a few more.”
