Chap. 26 – Wrightwood and writing

A zero day, hooray! Half of our group got into town this morning, PB went on a hike this morning, and the rest of us are getting a zero.

We met at Evergreen Café for breakfast and I bought a whole stack of pancakes. I couldn’t finish them all, so I gave the rest to PB and Frodo. Boostie and I headed back to our hotel room to clean up and check out after breakfast. It was a quick and easy cleanup!

While the others resupplied, I called to make reservations for everyone in a cabin. We booked one night at the Wrightwood Chalet, which had free pajamas to use as borrowing clothes! The only downside we ran into was that we saw «jacuzzi» listed as an amenity on their site, but after I paid, they told me it would cost me an additional $150 to use the jacuzzi. It was a big disappointment for all of us because we were already looking forward to it!

On a positive note, there were enough beds for all of us and we had a great time there. Boostie and I restocked in the afternoon after checking in and doing laundry. We also stopped by the brewery to buy more food there and I bought another Fanta Orange. I decided to pack the other half of my sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

A couple of our tram members who were several days ahead came to visit us and we had a very good night by the outdoor fireplace. Most people drank beer, I drank a liter of Mountain Dew. I can’t wait to finish that in the morning!

When I got tired of socializing, I went in and wrote and blogged. In fact, it is very nice to write at the end of each day. I was worried I’d have trouble with it, but it’s a great excuse to get some alone time when I need it!
