Folklore – The walk

Sunshine!!! I’m so happy. 10 hours of sleep and some sunlight makes me feel like a completely new person. The wind brought fog for a moment, but I put on Taylor Swift’s folklore album to embrace it knowing that blue sky was on the way.

My calf feels much better. Implementing it every day seems to be helping. I feel strong again. Early in the day we hit 600 miles! The mountain ranges are so close I can feel it. We walked through a stretch of pine forest to check it out.

Today might have been my favorite day of hiking in terms of terrain. We started in an oak forest, then a pine forest, and then a Joshua tree forest. The ground was mostly soft dirt, which is always soft on the feet.

I walked with Straight Up most of the day. We have a plan to meet up with Bug and Jug for a little adventure tomorrow, which may or may not work out. But for the plan to work we had to push on to Kelso Road and hope to find a link to Lake Isabella.

We are cowboys camping near the road and a water tank. I keep my fingers crossed that the trail provides me.
