The second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Los Angeles when co-host Canada takes on South Africa on Sunday.
Ending a 16-year wait, the Bafana Bafana returned to the tournament as underdogs and defeated South Korea to secure their place in the final 32. Canada, on the other hand, romped to a 6-0 win over Qatar after drawing 1-1 with Bosnia and Herzegovina to enter the second round.
Although Canada enters this match as favourites, the last time the two teams met, South Africa had the last laugh with a 2-0 win, thanks to a brace from Teko Modise in 2007.
