Colorado Trail: Day 18 – The hike

Day zero in Leadville. The Willow Fire “pre-evacuation area” continues to approach Highway 24, which may prevent southbound travel on that highway.

I spent the day packing all my clothes at the house in Leadville, in case we can’t return to this house again.

I packed resupply boxes to send to myself on my next stops. Reid will mail them tomorrow since today is Sunday.

I calculated the remaining mileage and have a rough estimate of how I want to approach the remaining miles of the CT.

The rest of the day was spent on my feet, except for an evening hike through Rocky.

Tomorrow we will return to the track.
