Today we did a little zero day in Erwin. Fernando also decided to stay today. It is raining a lot today, so many people stay a little longer.
The chef reunited with her original trail family! Mission accomplished. She leaves today.
We went into town again for a second resupply attempt. This time with less pressure. The bus ride into the city was crazy. The van was packed with 15 hikers! I lay down in a crowd surfing position on top of all the backpacks. It’s an experience.

This was not the only noteworthy ferry of the day. We made it to the Red Fork restaurant again, only they had a private party so we couldn’t eat there. But the owner is super friendly and offered us a shuttle to the nearby Mexican restaurant. 7 people in a car for 5? No problem! Not on Erwin.
When I’m in my tent, I usually go to bed pretty early. But hostels are a very nice place to hang out and chat with your fellow hikers. And before you know it, it’s 1 am. Oops. Well, I can walk with a little less sleep.
