East Bengal successfully defended their Indian Women’s League title after the match between Sethu FC and SESA FA ended in a 1-1 draw earlier on Tuesday.
The Moshal Girls have 30 points from 11 matches for their match against Nita FA. After the draw, Sethu brought the total to 23 points from 12 matches.
This comparison means that second-placed Sethu can only get a maximum of 29 points this season, which is less than the number East Bengal already has with three matches to go.
With this title win, Anthony Andrews-coached East Bengal have also booked a place in the AFC Women’s Champions League for the second season in a row.
