Norway advanced to the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockouts with a 3-2 win over Senegal at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on Monday.
Marcus Pedersen opened the scoring before Erling Haaland struck twice in the second half. Ismaila Sarr scored two goals either side of Norway’s third goal to give Norway a nerve-wracking finish, but the country managed to hold on and seal passage to the Round of 32.
Senegal, meanwhile, is third in the group with zero points from two games.
Senegal will be hoping to achieve victory in the final match against Iraq to have a chance of qualifying for the next round.
