Why was West Ham’s goal against Arsenal disallowed?
The Hammers equalized through Callum Wilson in second-half stoppage time through a chaotic passage of play from a corner. However, the Arsenal players and dugout appealed to the referees, pointing out possible foul play in the build-up.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) then ruled that a foul had been committed on Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya by substitute Pablo Fornals. It was ruled that his arm interfered with the goalkeeper during the movement leading to the goal, causing the goal to be disallowed.
The Gunners then recorded a 1-0 win to move five points clear at the top of the table.
