After years of build-up and months of conjecture, the 26-man squad of the United States of America (US) for this summer’s home world championship was unveiled in New York on Tuesday.
The squad, put together by manager Mauricio Pochettino, is anchored by a number of long-time regulars playing in Europe in AC Milan striker Christian Pulisic, Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.
The United States is in Group D of the World Cup, opening play June 12 against Paraguay in Inglewood, California, before games against Australia (June 19 in Seattle) and Turkiye (June 25 in Inglewood, California).
The team’s final friendlies are against Senegal (May 31 in Charlotte) and Germany (June 6 in Chicago).
