India will play two international friendlies against Tajikistan during the FIFA June window, with both matches scheduled to take place at the Hisor Central Stadium in Tajikistan on June 5 and 9. Both matches will start at 8:30 PM IST.
The matches will take place immediately after India’s Unity Cup campaign in London, where the Blue Tigers will compete in the four-team tournament with India, Jamaica, Nigeria and Zimbabwe from May 26 to 30.

The matches in Tajikistan are expected to give head coach Khalid Jamil another chance to assess his side against a strong Central Asian opponent. India had defeated Tajikistan 2-1 in the CAFA Nations Cup last year, a result that marked the side’s first victory in 17 years.
The friendlies will have value as India look to build continuity after a mixed recent run and use the June period to hone combinations, especially with competitive Asian assignments on the horizon. For the head coach, the Unity Cup series, followed by away friendlies, provides an opportunity to test the team depth and competitiveness of players.
