India made a positive start to the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 campaign, beating Maldives 11-0 in their opening match at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao, Goa, on Monday.
The match marked the first time the Blue Tigresses played in Goa, and they will look to regain the title they last won in 2019.
India are grouped with Bangladesh and Maldives, with the top two teams from each group competing in the semi-finals.
Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka form the other group.
