ISL 2026-27 will run from September 1 to April 11, as per AIFF’s tentative schedule

The top-flight Indian Super League (ISL) will run from September 1 to April 11, as per the All India Football Federation (AIFF) provisional calendar for the 2026-2027 season, with the Federation Cup scheduled from April 20 to May 10.

According to the provisional calendar, the ISL will return to a full seven-month season after a shortened season this year due to administrative issues.

The Indian Football League (IFL), the country’s second tier of men’s football, will be held from October 9 to March 14, while the Indian Women’s League (IWL) is scheduled from September 3 to January 24, as per the proposed calendar that is yet to be approved by the executive committee.

The I-League 2 competition is scheduled between February 1 and April 11, while the men’s third division competition will take place from August 15 to November 7.

The Durand Cup will be held from July 11 to August 20.

The Indian Women’s League 2 (IWL) is expected to take place from July 9 to August 22.

The Santosh Trophy National Football Championship is scheduled to be held from November 19 to January 17 next year.

This season’s ISL was held in a single-leg round-robin format, with all 14 participating teams competing against each other once. A total of 91 matches were played during the season, with each team playing 13 matches.

East Bengal FC were crowned champions for the first time in ISL history, ahead of arch-rivals Mohun Bagan Super Giant, with the winner decided on the final day of the competition last month.

The provisional calendar also included dates for national age group championships, youth competitions, indoor football championships and beach football tournaments.
