Second-half goals by Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele helped France beat Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Boston Stadium on Thursday.
France became the first team to book a place in the semi-finals as they aim to become a third consecutive title decider.
It was deja vu for Morocco when they reached the same scoreline against France in the 2022 semi-finals.
After a goalless first half, Mbappé made a great effort to break Morocco’s stubborn defense in the 60th minute. The goal moved the France captain level with Argentina captain Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race with eight goals.
Mbappe made up for the penalty miss in the 28th minute after Yassine Bounou saved his tame effort from the spot.
Six minutes later, Mbappé set up Dembélé to strike from distance to double the lead.
France will face the winner of the quarter-final between Spain and Belgium in the last four matches.
