In a previous post, I think I told the audience why I’m hiking with Mr. Peanut as my hiking buddy… but why Mr. Peanut?
A long, long time ago, maybe 1970 or something, my dear mom loaded her brood of kids (me included!) into the family station wagon for what was going to be an epic experience for everyone!
You see, Mr. Peanut was going to appear at the local department store that day. According to Mom, she was giddy with excitement. However, that all changed pretty quickly. While mom takes us to the celebrity of the day, instead of seeing this Mr. Peanut,
Instead I saw this Mr. Peanut:

I was scared to death! I don’t think I’ll let Mr. Scary Peanut near me…sorry mom.
Many years later, I told this horrible story to my friend Jeff. Jeff thought it was pretty funny. And to add more intrigue to all of this, it turns out that Jeff’s mom dug up the floppy little Mr. Peanut who is now my walking buddy, and Jeff presented him to me as a Christmas gift in 2025.
There it is, in a nutshell (ha ha ha)!
