Naked Walking Day (Day 61)

This whole time I’ve had a “yeah man” attitude, but today it backfired a little. It’s a day of walking naked. In one of the busiest places for hikers on the AT. Oops.

We are not going to be frontal, after all we are not animals. A small loincloth made from two handkerchiefs should suffice. PK only had one, a scarf that Dreamcatcher gave him a couple of days ago. That’s probably not what you had in mind, but here we are.

We are in the worst place for this day. We continue in the Triple Crown of Virginia, one of the most visited places on the AT. Great moment.

Despite this, we did not meet any hikers today. After 6 miles, I put my boxers back on. The rubbing was becoming quite intense. All respect to anyone doing the four state challenge on this day.

PK is short for Push-up King. He does 10 push-ups for every mile, 40 for trail magic, etc. Well, today is no different. He even climbed a large stone monolith and made them there. Too bad his hipbelt held up his clothes and he didn’t use his backpack to do push-ups. Like I said before, we’re getting to know each other pretty well here.

Naked Walking Day (Day 61)

A few miles before entering Daleville, we changed back into our regular clothes and headed to the local barbecue place, where my dad was already sitting with a beer in his hand. He walked ahead of us all day, so he didn’t really participate today.

1/3 of the way!

After a delicious late lunch/dinner, we still had to walk a couple of miles to the next tent site. That’s when we passed the 1/3 sign! We’re already a third of the way there!
