Netherlands beats Tunisia to top group at 2026 FIFA World Cup; TUN vs NED player ratings


The Netherlands sealed top spot in Group F on Thursday after a 3-1 win over Tunisia in the final group match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Kansas City Stadium.

The victory brought Ronald Koeman’s team to seven points, while Japan came second with five, followed by Sweden with four points. Tunisia ended the campaign with zero points and twelve goals conceded.

The Netherlands took the lead in the third minute after Ellyes Skhiri bundled the ball into his own net and Brian Brobbey doubled the score four minutes later.

Tunisia got one back nine minutes into the second half through a Hazem Mastouri header, but Jan Paul van Hecke restored his side’s two-goal lead eight minutes later with a header of his own.

First place means the Netherlands will face African champions Morocco in the round of 32, after finishing second behind Brazil in Group C.
