TA Day 19: Sand, mud and 400 km done!

Greetings from Ocean Beach, New Zealand; Kilometer 400 on the Araroa Trail (TA)!
The sun is shining, the waves are crashing, and the beach is crawling with little sand bugs, while a couple of oyster fishermen search for their next meal.
Good weather considering the torrential downpour that greeted us at camp a few hours earlier. It’s 5:00 p.m., which means it’s almost acceptable to start making dinner early. Most nights, hikers go to bed at 8:00 p.m. …
