The arid and boring desert?

Although we typically think of the desert as an arid, dry landscape, the truth is that Southern California has an amazing collection of colorful, unique, and soul-brightening shrubs and flowers. This post is about the flowers I saw during my trip on the first leg of the PCT. I don’t know the name of any of the flowers except the last one, which is the prettiest in the collection.
