Neymar Jr. will not take the field for Brazil on Friday when it takes on Haiti in the FIFA World Cup Group C at Philadelphia Stadium.
Neymar, 34, will be sidelined for his fourth World Cup since suffering a calf injury to his right leg while playing for Santos on May 17 in Brazil.
He trained with the group for the first time on Wednesday, but there is no confirmation whether he will take part in Brazil’s final group match against Scotland on June 24.
Neymar will not be part of the group in Philadelphia as Brazil aims for their first victory of the tournament.
The Brazilian Football Federation said in a statement: “He will remain in New Jersey to optimize the final phase of his recovery process.”
