FIFA announced on Wednesday the final selection lists for the upcoming World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada

A total of 1,248 players from the 48 teams have been officially announced, of which 357 have had previous World Cup experience.

There will be seven players over 40 years old at the World Cup.

Scottish goalkeeper Craig Gordon, 43, will be the oldest player this time. He is also the second oldest to go to a World Cup after Egyptian shot-stopper Essam El Hadary, who was 45 in Russia 2018.

Among the outfield players, Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, is the oldest in 2026.
