Liverpool have announced that they have parted ways with Dutch manager Arne Slot after two seasons at the helm of the Anfield dugout.
Slot won the Premier League title in his first season after replacing legendary manager Jurgen Klopp, but endured a more difficult second season as the Reds finished fifth amid reports of clashes with senior players such as Mohamed Salah.

Here are three managers who could potentially take over Slot’s job at Liverpool:
Andoni Iraola
Spanish manager Andoni Iraola has left Bournemouth after three impressive seasons on the south coast. Under his management, Bournemouth finished 12th, ninth and sixth, securing European football for the first time in its history in his final season in charge, despite losing several senior players at the start of the season.
He was also praised for instituting a courageous, attacking style of football at the Vitality Stadium.
However, Iraola announced his intention to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season back in April and he is now the frontrunner to take charge of Merseyside.
Oliver Glasner
Another Premier League exit option is Austrian Oliver Glasner, who leaves Crystal Palace after bowing out by winning the UEFA Europa League. Glasner is a more pragmatic manager than Iraola, but has had success with Eintracht Frankfurt and Crystal Palace.
He was strongly linked with the Manchester United job, but with Michael Carrick taking the job, he could now be a strong candidate for the Liverpool job.
Steven Gerard
A leftfield option for Liverpool could be a club legend like Steven Gerrard. Gerrard, who has made the third most appearances of all time for the Reds, has been out of work since leaving Al-Ettifaq in 2025. However, he also has significant managerial experience at Rangers and Aston Villa.
If Liverpool’s hierarchy believe they need someone well-known at the club to take charge, he could be an option.
