Ismael Saibari from Morocco scored his team’s opening goal against Brazil at the New York/New Jersey Stadium during the World Cup on Saturday.
The 25-year-old ran through on goal and collected a pass from Brahim Diaz, before lifting the ball over the onrushing Alisson to open the scoring.
Spanish-born Saibari represented Morocco at youth level before making his national team debut in 2023. He has played 29 international matches and scored eight goals.
Saibari comes into the tournament on the back of a 15-goal season for PSV Eindhoven, which won the Eredivisie for the third season in a row.
