The Netherlands will look to secure their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockouts when they play Tunisia in the Group F match at the Kansas City Stadium on Thursday.

The Dutch team recorded a 5-1 victory against Sweden in their previous match, while Tunisia confirmed their elimination from the quadrennial tournament with a 0-4 defeat against Japan.

Who will be the referee for the match between Tunisia and the Netherlands in Group F?

The match between Tunisia and the Netherlands in Group F will be supervised by Mexican referee Katia Itzel García.

She is one of six female officials selected for the tournament in North America and will take charge of her first match on Thursday. She also becomes only the third woman to take charge of a competition, after France Stéphanie Frappart (2022) and Tori Penso (2026).

Katia started her professional career in 2017 and mainly works in Mexico’s top division. She has been a FIFA-listed referee since 2019 and has competed in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Paris Olympics, the 2024 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup and more.

She has managed 71 matches in her career so far, handing out 292 yellow cards (including 2 second yellow cards) and six red cards in that period.
