Egypt defied the odds to take the lead against Argentina in the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup in Atlanta on Tuesday.
Yasser Ibrahim came from a cross into the penalty area in the 15th minute and headed it past Emiliano Martinez to give the African side an unlikely 1-0 lead.
The 33-year-old has been playing for Egyptian side Al Ahly since 2019 and has scored 26 goals in 226 appearances. He played 22 times for Egypt and Tuesday’s goal was his first goal for the team.
