Ousmane Dembele scored a hat-trick to guide France to a 4-1 victory over Norway in the final Group I match of the FIFA World Cup in Boston on Friday.
The two-time champion finished as the winner of his group, winning all three matches.
As the winner of Group I, the pre-tournament placements state that France will face the third-placed team from one of Groups C, D, F, G and H.
The multiple options have been retained to ensure that teams from the same group do not face each other again for the quarter-finals.
As things stand, France will play Sweden, which finished third in Group F. France will play its round of 32 on July 1 in New Jersey.
