Cristiano Ronaldo had a goal disallowed for Portugal after being behind in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match against Croatia in Toronto.
In the 61st minute of the match, Ronaldo took an aerial pass from deep and dropped the ball over the onrushing Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. However, his celebration was cut short when the offside flag was raised.
Upon inspection, the striker initially appeared to be offside, but upon inspection the semi-automatic VAR indicated that his shoulder was in an offside position.
He would later equalize from the penalty spot with twenty minutes left in the match.
