Kerala Blasters beat FC Goa to end 2025-2026 ISL season on a high

Kerala Blasters ended the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season successfully after a 2-1 win over FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi on Monday.

A sumptuous right-foot strike from Kevin Yoke and a cool finish from Fallou Ndiaye gave Kerala Blasters their fifth win and completed a dramatic turnaround under Ashley Westwood. Kerala Blasters are eighth in the standings with 17 points, while Goa finished a step higher with 20.

FC Goa attacked Kerala Blasters hard in the first minutes of the first half. But Blasters passed the testing phase and gradually began to assert themselves with moves from both channels.

However, Goan goalkeeper Bob Jackson Raj proved to be the stumbling block as he intercepted two good passes before they could reach the Blasters attackers. But the best chance of the first half came in the 30th minute from Dejan Drazic, but the Serbian blasted his shot wide when he had only goalkeeper Arsh Anwer Shaikh to beat.

Blasters’ goal got another close shave in the closing minutes of the first half when Udanta Singh headed Akash Sangwan’s cross wide.

Blasters started the second half promisingly, with Francisco Feuillassier (Franchu) putting a shot just over the bar. Then came Yoke’s brilliant piece, whose curling right foot beat Bob to put the Blasters ahead in the 48th minute.

The goal sparked a series of good moves from the Goans, and it ended with Nemil finding the equalizer with a good finish from a low cross from Brison. Blasters always looked dangerous in turnovers, with Yoke providing the impetus beforehand.

Goa conceded a corner and poor defending saw Ndiaye score the winning goal in the 81st minute.
