The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute after SESA failed to clear the lines in the final third. Angamuthu reacted quickest to the loose ball and struck from distance to find the net with an excellent finish.
East Bengal continued to dominate possession and doubled their lead again in the 28th minute through Angamuthu. After Ikwaput was brought down just outside the penalty area, the midfielder curled a well-taken free kick towards the top right corner. SESA goalkeeper Monger Sangita got a hand on the effort, but could not keep it out.
SESA threatened briefly in the 35th minute when Maurine Achieng attempted an effort from distance but the shot lacked power and was comfortably collected by East Bengal goalkeeper Elangbam Panthoi Chanu.
The Moshal Girls struck twice in stoppage time of the first half to put the match beyond doubt. Guguloth made it 3-0 in the 45+1st minute, after flying past several defenders on the edge of the penalty area before calmly finishing past Sangita. Three minutes later, Loitongbam Ashalata Devi delivered a sharp cross from the right for Lepcha, who rose above her marker to head in East Bengal’s fourth.
East Bengal comfortably controlled proceedings after the break and added a fifth in the 70th minute. A sloppy pass at the back allowed Ikwaput to pounce on the loose ball, drive into the penalty area and calmly head home.
Nanziri completed the scoring in the 87th minute after crossing in from the right flank. What initially seemed like a cross towards the far post eventually ended up in the net after a tap from the post.
