FIFA has confirmed the match officials for the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final between France and Morocco, with an all-Argentine squad, led by chief referee Facundo Tello, to officiate the match.
It is the first time in this World Cup edition that a match has exclusive match officials from one country
The appointment continues FIFA’s practice of selecting experienced officials for the final stages of the tournament, with Tello bringing previous World Cup knockout experience to this high-profile match.
The Argentine official previously oversaw Morocco’s World Cup quarter-final against Portugal in Qatar, making this his second consecutive last-eight match involving the Atlas Lions.
Facundo Tello is assisted by Juan Pablo Belatti and Gabriel Chade, while Dario Herrera and Cristian Navarro serve as fourth official and reserve assistant referees respectively.
