Unwell Alex Ferguson taken to hospital from Old Trafford for Manchester United vs Liverpool

Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was taken to hospital from Old Trafford after falling ill ahead of the Red Devils’ match against Liverpool on Sunday.

According to the report, the 84-year-old was taken to hospital as a precaution, while club officials are optimistic he will soon be fit enough to return home.

Ferguson, who managed United from 1986 until his retirement in 2013, won 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies during a glittering 26-year spell at the club.

He lifted a total of 38 trophies with United.

A United spokesman said the club could not comment on Ferguson’s status.

Ferguson is a regular at United’s home games and has a row of seats in the directors’ box at Old Trafford.
