Portugal were awarded a penalty against Croatia in the round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Toronto Stadium on Thursday.
From a Portugal corner in the 64th minute, Renato Veiga was pulled down in the penalty area by Nikola Vlasic, who was marked by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The match referee, Espen Eskas, then went to watch the replays on the touchline monitor before pointing to the spot for a Portuguese penalty.
Cristiano Ronaldo converted the effort to level the scores in the 68th minute.
