Central defender Marc Guehi returned to training for England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway on Saturday as he tries to overcome a hamstring injury suffered in the win over Mexico.
Guehi played no part in the final training session in Kansas City before the team flew to Miami for the match, but England coach Thomas Tuchel remains hopeful he can play.
The 25-year-old Manchester City defender walked around the field of the English training base Swope Soccer on Thursday, but did not participate in the team training.
However, there was some positive news after the team landed in Miami as Guehi took part in training at Inter Miami’s base in Fort Lauderdale.
The loss of Guehi would be an additional blow to England’s defense after Jarell Quansah was handed a two-match ban for the red card he received in the 3-2 last-16 win over the Mexicans.
Right back Reece James was also back on the grass after missing the last few games due to injury.
